Carolina Goes Silva e Silva is a Technical Operations Coordinator at the Curtin Medical Research Institute. In this role, Carolina works closely with researchers, students, professional staff, and contractors to help maintain laboratory spaces that are safe, well organised, and ready for research. She supports the day to day operation of laboratories and assists researchers in meeting regulatory and university requirements while maintaining safe, functional, and fit for purpose research spaces.

Carolina developed her expertise in technical operations through a strong foundation in laboratory based research, having worked in academic research environments across Australia, Brazil, and New Zealand. Her experience working in PC2 certified laboratories naturally led her from hands on research roles into operational and coordination positions supporting complex research facilities.

Carolina is passionate about creating well run and supportive research environments where clear processes and practical safety practices enable high quality work. With training in laboratory technology and biological sciences, Carolina brings a practical, approachable, and collaborative style to supporting research at Curtin Medical Research Institute.
